some time around 1983 my grandfather park rear-ended a truck totaling his car. for fear they might not be so lucky next time, my dad gave them our big beautiful brown buick century. offended, granddad traded it in for this one-owner chevy II from council grove kansas. everyone thinking he was driving around his sister’s car he had it painted “butterscotch” (an orange). this trade upset my dad so grandad gave it to us. in 1984 i gave dad $400 for it, after being rear ended by a 55 chevy truck on it’s way to the salvage yard for a grill part before going to paint, and the next day my girlfriend’s parents backing into the front, essentially turning it into an accordion. it was rebuilt & painted in 1987 in medicine lodge kansas
